Nanchong, Sichuan: Inheriting the Red Flame of the Long March and Cultivating the patriotism of young people

In order to solemnly commemorate the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Long March of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army and the 100th anniversary of the Lushun Uprising, inherit and promote the great spirit of the Long March, and build a solid foundation of young people's ideals and beliefs, on the evening of September 14th, a red propaganda activity with the theme of "Promoting the Long March Spirit and Advancing the Journey of the Times" was held at Sanyuan Experimental School in Nanchong City, bringing an immersive and warm red ideological and political class to the middle school teachers and students.

This event is guided by the Veterans Affairs Bureau of Nanchong City, hosted by the Martyrs' Memorial Facility Protection Center, organized by Sanyuan Experimental School, and co organized by multiple units. Through innovative and vivid forms of preaching, the Red History and Long March Spirit are brought into the campus and infused with childlike innocence.

At the lecture site, Zeng Lang, director of the Nanchong Martyrs Memorial Facility Protection Center, gave a speech. He introduced that Nanchong, as a fertile ground for the revolution in northern Sichuan and a cradle of the Red Army, had 52000 hometown sons and daughters join the Red Army, 38000 martyrs sacrificed their lives for the country, and forged immortal revolutionary monuments with their blood and lives. At the same time, it reviewed the turbulent past of the 1926 Lushun Uprising, which fired the first shot of Sichuan's armed resistance against warlords in Shunqing, and narrated the heroic deeds of local revolutionary martyrs such as Wu Jipan and Li Mingke, allowing teachers and students to truly feel the profound red heritage of their hometown.

Different from the traditional preaching mode, this event combines immersive forms such as scenario interpretation, veteran preaching, family letter recitation, and video exhibition, vividly reproducing the revolutionary years. The scenario play "Crossing That Mountain" was written and performed by students, vividly depicting the Red Army's fearless struggle and overcoming difficulties during the Long March; Retired veteran Aozawa Masamune shared his half life patriotism with his own experiences, and his simple and sincere narration touched the hearts of all teachers and students.

The heartfelt recitation of the letter written by martyr Zhao Zhanying to his mother, the sincere performance of the sitcom "My Comrades at Changjin Lake", and the precious historical video series, connect the red threads of the Lushun Uprising, the Red Army Long March, and the Korean War, one by one touching heroic stories, allowing teachers and students present to immerse themselves in the loyalty and responsibility of revolutionary predecessors.

At the end of the event, all teachers and students stood up and sang "Sing the Motherland" together. The passionate and loud singing was full of love for the motherland and reverence for the martyrs, pushing the atmosphere of the scene to a climax.

Red inheritance, eternal flame. It is reported that the Nanchong Martyrs Memorial Facility Protection Center will continue to cultivate red resources, regularly carry out the "Walking Ideological and Political Class" series of activities, extend the red classroom to the campus, dig deep into the stories of local martyrs, promote the spirit of the Great Long March, guide young people to remember history, honor martyrs, and draw strength, pass on the red gene from generation to generation, and inspire young students to forge ahead with the power of youth in the new era.
