The 7th Sichuan Craftsman Cup Skills Competition, using competition as a medium and competition as a platform, kicked off in Nanchong

Skills illuminate the future, craftsmanship builds a dream paradise. On September 14th, the 7th "Sichuan Craftsman Cup" Vocational Skills Competition and the 4th National Skills Competition Sichuan Provincial Selection Competition were held in Nanchong, aiming to use the competition as a link to promote the growth of craftsmanship and industry, as well as mutual growth with employment, and create a strong atmosphere of respecting skills, advocating skills, and learning skills.

As the largest and highest level comprehensive vocational skills competition in Sichuan Province, this tournament features 85 competition events with 2599 participants competing on the same field, setting a new record for the scale in history. The competition will be held in conjunction with the Fourth National Skills Competition Sichuan Provincial Selection Competition, undertaking the task of selecting Sichuan participants for the 2027 Hangzhou Fourth National Skills Competition, and opening up a four tiered promotion channel including city (state) selection, provincial competition, national competition, and world competition.

It is reported that during the competition, the main venue in Nanchong will host the finals of 23 key events, which will be held in the two major competition areas of Nanchong International Convention and Exhibition Center and Nanchong Vocational and Technical College. The competitions cover multiple categories from restaurant services and elderly care to drone driving and network security, covering production and modern services. In addition to the competition, supporting activities are also tight: the coordinated release of craftsmanship cultivation "industry school land" in Nanchong and the empowerment of Nanchong by the Western High skilled Talent Cultivation Headquarters, as well as the "Industry Training Gathering Craftsmanship Casting Talents" Industry Training Supply and Demand Matchmaking Exchange Conference, have been held successively. This grand event, hosted by 12 provincial-level units including the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Sichuan Province and undertaken by the People's Government of Nanchong City, is transforming the dividends of the competition into practical development results through the approach of "promoting learning, training, production, employment, and business through competition".

At the critical juncture of the start of the 15th Five Year Plan, Nanchong sounded the charge of "rebuilding Nanchong's industry", striving to double the total industrial output value of the city's above designated size on the basis of 2025 by 2030. The data confirms the effectiveness of the integration of production and training: Since the beginning of this year, Nanchong City has carried out project-based training for 23000 people, organized 138 supply and demand matching activities for production and training, and facilitated the joint construction of 23 cooperative projects such as industrial colleges, training bases, and order orientation classes between schools and enterprises. In May of this year, the first batch of 5 craftsman colleges were officially listed, and the construction of the "1+1+N" craftsman college system made important breakthroughs, setting up a ladder for industrial workers to transform from "workers" to "craftsmen".
