Sichuan Yingshan: The 7th Black Goat Food Culture Week series of activities will be launched on December 19th

Appreciating ecological black goats and admiring the smoke and fire of the mountains. On December 15th, we learned from the Commerce, Economy, and Foreign Affairs Bureau of Yingshan County, Nanchong City, Sichuan Province that the 7th Nanchong Yingshan Black Goat Food Culture Week series of activities will officially start on December 19th and continue until February 10th, 2026.

The theme of this event is "Millennium Yingshan County - Ecological Black Goat". Through various activities such as specialty exhibitions, food tasting, cultural performances, and coupon distribution, it ignites the winter consumption trend and enhances the Yingshan characteristic cultural tourism and food brand.

During the concentrated activity period, Yingshan County New Era Square will transform into a "food consumption venue". The exhibition and sales area for local specialty products will gather famous and excellent agricultural products, industrial products, intangible cultural heritage handicrafts, and Yingshan cold noodles from all over the county. Merchants will benefit consumers through discount promotions, consumption voucher deductions, and other methods. E-commerce anchors will also hold live streaming sales competitions to help agricultural specialty products "reach the internet and become popular". The Black Goat Food Appreciation Activity is a highlight. A "long table banquet" will be arranged on the site to carry out "100 chefs cook sheep", and a limited amount of mutton soup will be provided to the public free of charge every day. At the same time, Roasted whole lamb, mutton kebabs and other paid delicacies will be launched; The "Yingshan Cuisine Passport" will be issued simultaneously, and citizens and tourists can check in at local specialty food restaurants in the county and collect their seals to participate in the lucky draw. Simultaneously carrying out various cultural and artistic activities and performances, enlivening the atmosphere on site, and continuously lighting up the "night economy" of Yingshan.

To amplify the effect of the event, 2 million yuan worth of electronic consumption vouchers will also be distributed, including 1.55 million yuan worth of catering consumption vouchers and 300000 yuan worth of on-site exhibition consumption vouchers, which will be distributed in multiple batches through online platforms to meet different consumption needs.

It is reported that Yingshan black goats have pure black fur, strong body shape, tender meat, unique flavor, low fat content, high nutritional content, and are highly favored by consumers. Their sales market radiates more than ten provinces and cities. In 2004, "Yingshan Black Goat" was certified as a pollution-free agricultural product. In 2008, "Yingshan Black Goat" was registered as a certified trademark, becoming the first live trademark in Southwest China. The following year, it officially entered the list of geographical indication products in China and became a geographical indication protected product. In 2021, Yingshan Black Goat and Jialing Black Goat were unified as "Nanchong Black Goat" and became national livestock and poultry genetic resource varieties through on-site identification by the National Livestock and Poultry Genetic Resources Committee. In 2023, the genetic resources of Nanchong black goats were recognized as newly discovered excellent germplasm resources in Sichuan Province.

Since 2016, Yingshan County has successfully held six sessions of the Black Goat Food Culture Series, playing an important role in the county's rural revitalization, investment promotion, and other work. It has rapidly promoted the modernization of the agricultural industry and accelerated the development process of the entire sheep meat industry chain. The popularity and reputation of Yingshan Black Goat are increasing, and its attractiveness and influence are becoming stronger.
