The 2025 Nanchong International Youth Carnival was Held Successfully

On April 29th, the "Youth Chasing Dreams·A World of Harmony" 2025 Nanchong International Youth Carnival, co-hosted by the Nanchong People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Nanchong Branch of China Postal Savings Bank, was held successfully. Representatives of young people from home and abroad, including foreign workers and international students from 41 countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Vietnam, gathered for an in-depth cultural experience and exchange. Attending the event were leaders including Huang Wei, Vice President of the Sichuan People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Shi Yi, Member of the Standing Committee of the Nanchong Municipal Committee, Chen Shenglun, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Nanchong Municipal People’s Congress, Huang Xuemei, Vice Chairman of the Nanchong Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and Li Yu, Executive Chairman and Secretary-General of the International Communication Development Alliance.

In his speech, Shi Yi said that Nanchong is a city with a long history and rich culture, a beautiful environment that is suitable for living and traveling, a vibrant economy full of opportunities, and a great place for ambitious people to pursue and realize their dreams. As the Youth Day is approaching, everyone gathered by the beautiful Jialing River. The event aimed to provide a broad platform for Chinese and foreign youth to get to know each other, learn from each other, and communicate with each other. It encouraged young people from China and other countries to discover the Chinese spirit with their eyes, listen to the voice of the people with their ears, and feel the pulse of the times with their hearts, truly allowing youth to shine more brilliantly through exchanges and mutual learning.

Shi Yi pointed out that at present, the wave of globalization is surging and the destinies of human beings are closely linked. He hoped that everyone would use their youth as the paddle and dreams as the sail, to gain knowledge and broaden their horizons. With the Jialing River as the pen and silk as the scroll, they should write romantic stories of encountering Nanchong on the land of Bashu. They should also build bridges of responsibility and pave the way for integration, working together as messengers of people-to-people exchanges and jointly writing a wonderful chapter in building a community with a shared future for mankind.

In order to deepen the exchange and mutual learning of Chinese and foreign civilizations, enhance the friendship between Chinese and foreign youth, and build a platform for Chinese and foreign youth exchanges, a ceremony for appointing Nanchong “Ambassadors of Friendship” was also held on the spot. Nine international students from China West Normal University, North Sichuan Medical College, and Nanchong Vocational and Technical College, including Amier (Chinese name), Jackie (Chinese name), Amina (Chinese name), and Wen Liufang (Chinese name), were awarded appointment letters.

The carnival took the form of a cultural performance by Chinese and foreign youth. Programs such as the lion and martial arts performance “Lion and Martial Arts of China,” guzheng performance “I Love You China,” acrobatics “Tai Chi Altar Charm,” puppet show “A Thousand Miles Share the Beauty of the Moon,” solo singing “Try Everything,” multilingual chorus “Boundless Ocean,” and Indian dance “Kanglei Dance” were staged one after another. These programs showcased the diverse integration of Chinese culture and exotic charm, as well as the youthful vigor and charm of the young people. The event reached multiple climaxes, igniting the entire venue and jointly composing a symphony of “beauty shared and harmony coexisting.”

This event was strongly supported by the Nanchong Branch of China Postal Savings Bank, China West Normal University, North Sichuan Medical College, Nanchong Vocational and Technical College, Shunqing District Quyi Artists Association, and Sun Lei Guzheng Studio. Zhou Wei, the branch manager of the Nanchong Branch of China Postal Savings Bank, said that by doing well in the five major articles of finance, promoting mutual learning among young people from different backgrounds, and helping young people achieve their career ideals.

About 1,000 people, including leaders of relevant municipal units, heads of universities in the city, foreign teachers, international students, and domestic youth representatives, attended the event. (Yi Qinghai, Tang Min)
