From 'blooming on the spot' to 'becoming a scenery on the surface'

The renovation of old residential areas is an important aspect of urban renewal, a major livelihood and development project, and also a footnote to the closest approach of "urban renewal" to people's lives.

In mid October, we arrived at the renovation site of Jialing Garden Community in Nanhu Street, Jialing District. We saw that the exterior of the building, which was originally dilapidated and full of traces of time, had been completely renewed, appearing particularly refreshing under the autumn sunshine; The road is smooth and clean, the supporting facilities are well-organized and complete, and leisure seats and classified garbage bins are readily available. As a key livelihood project in Jialing District, the renovation project of Jialing Garden's old residential area started in April this year. The project includes updating the rainwater and sewage pipeline network, repairing damaged roads, adding greenery, improving convenient places, installing monitoring equipment, optimizing parking layout, etc. The project is expected to be fully completed by the end of November this year, benefiting over 1000 residents in the community.

Not far away, the Jiahong Road Phase I Huanfang Community in Nanhu Street, Jialing District has completed the upgrading and renovation in January this year. Previously, the cables in the community were messy like a spider web, the rainwater and sewage pipe network was aging and blocked, the road surface was bumpy and uneven, and the security facilities were missing. After the renovation, all aerial cables are neatly laid into the ground, the rainwater and sewage pipeline network is comprehensively upgraded, and the problems of water accumulation and odor return are cured; All damaged road surfaces are hardened and leveled, and old walls are repaired and reinforced; Intelligent access control, energy-saving street lights, garbage sorting facilities, and fitness equipment have been successively implemented, and the supporting facilities, living environment, and safety quality have been comprehensively improved.

After renovation, the road surface has become flat, the street lights have been lit up, and green belts have been added. The living environment has been refreshed, and everyone is very happy. The city plans to renovate 300 new old residential areas by 2026, and the renovation of old residential areas has formed a good trend of multi-point flowering and comprehensive promotion. The development of citrus industry in Yuanba Temple Village is only a microcosm of the overall industrial development in the county.
