Cherish food, uphold the original intention, cultivate virtues through labor

In order to promote the traditional virtues of diligence, thrift and frugality, and cultivate children's awareness of loving and cherishing food, on the occasion of World Food Day on October 16th, Qingpingguo Xiaolong Kindergarten in Gaoping District, Nanchong City, has carefully carried out a series of themed educational practice activities. Based on the law of physical and mental development of children, the kindergarten innovates the form of education, integrates knowledge and science popularization, sensory exploration, and farming experience, and simultaneously advocates the "Clean Your Plate Campaign", so that children can feel the difficulty of work, understand the value of food, and let the new style of diligence and thrift nourish the beautiful childlike innocence.

Know the five grains, know all things, moisten everything silently. During the event, the entire park conducted a variety of themed classes on food awareness. Teachers use diverse teaching methods such as science popularization, physical observation, and sensory exploration to lead young children to have a close understanding of various types of crops. Through immersive experiences of looking, touching, and distinguishing, children can intuitively understand the appearance, growth characteristics, and edible value of various food crops, and systematically recognize the sources and functions of food. In a relaxed and lively teaching atmosphere, young children gradually break through their shallow understanding of daily meals, establish a preliminary understanding of respecting food and labor, and lay a good foundation for developing the habit of saving food.

By personally cultivating and practicing labor, one can understand the bitterness and suffering. To deepen the effectiveness of education and make labor education more profound and practical, kindergartens have carefully set up agricultural practice experience activities. Children step out of the classroom, get close to nature, and personally participate in traditional farming experiences such as crop planting and "field transplanting", immersing themselves in simulating the process of agricultural work. From careful sowing and nurturing, to hands-on experience of planting rice seedlings and gaining insights from the fields, children truly feel the hardships and difficulties of agricultural labor through hands-on practice. Let the meaning of "sweat drips down the grain, and every grain is hard" in the ancient poetry be translated from words to real experience, so that children can deeply understand that every grain is condensed with hard work, consciously practice Clean Your Plate Campaign, and refuse to waste on the tip of the tongue.

Nurturing childlike innocence and cultivating character will lead to long-term success. This themed activity aims to educate children through hard work and practical experience, integrating the concept of conservation, advocacy through CDs, labor education, and moral education, effectively helping young children establish correct views on food and labor. Our kindergarten will continue to deepen the concept of cultivating students through the combination of five aspects of education, and carry out life oriented moral education and labor practice activities on a regular basis. We will guide children to adhere to the practice of cherishing food and keeping it safe, so that the good habits of cherishing food and saving can be rooted in daily life and integrated into every detail, helping children cultivate good character and grow up in a civilized and sunny manner.
