Nanchong, Sichuan: Longmen Middle School's "New Year" in 2025

After the end of summer, a new journey begins. On the morning of August 29th, Longmen Middle School in Nanchong, Sichuan Province officially began its "New Year's Eve" season in 2025, welcoming 966 high school freshmen and first-year students who had registered.

New journey brings new hope

Around 7am, the freshmen, accompanied by their parents, arrived early at the class display board, carefully checking the class list, class location, homeroom teacher's phone number, and other information to prepare a strategy for successfully finding and integrating into the "new family" in Longzhong.

At the same time, the 2025 class teachers are on high alert and have carefully arranged the classrooms. The slogan "Welcome New Students" on the blackboard is warm and welcoming, the registration process is simple and clear, and the cola, snacks, and pink balloons on the desk bring students a lot of surprises

After registration, students or a few companions, or accompanied by their parents, come to the check-in points in front of Yuxiang Building, the "Fish Leaping Dragon Gate" observation deck, the new school gate, and other places to take photos. Smiling faces are not only a record of happiness, but also a beautiful longing for a new journey.

In order to better and faster adapt to the new environment and new school stage, on the afternoon of the 29th, each class began organizing the distribution of textbooks and conducting entrance education. Teacher Liu Chun, the homeroom teacher of Class 11, stated that he will organize the "first lesson" of new students' enrollment well, educate and guide students to set lofty goals and become outstanding talents.

Volunteer service with dedication and responsibility

In order to provide more convenient services for new students to register and facilitate the efficient implementation of the school's opening work, the school has coordinated and promoted the voluntary service for welcoming students. More than 60 high school and high school students have been organized to become "guides" and write a warm opening for the new academic year with enthusiasm.

On the morning of the 29th, volunteers were fully equipped and positioned, connecting 12 points from off campus stations and intersections to on campus gates, registration points, and dormitory areas to form a service loop.

Outside of school, they hold up guide maps to pick up new students, carry luggage, and use "I'll take you away" to eliminate unfamiliarity; On campus, guide the route at the entrance, assist with luggage transportation, assist with materials and reminders to bring identification at the registration point, provide standardized guidance and explanations in the dormitory area, and transform the crossroads into a "living map" to answer questions and coordinate emergencies. From dawn to noon, the flowing figures allow freshmen and parents to truly feel the warmth of being a family. For volunteers, the transition from "being served" to "serving" has made them realize the meaning of "responsibility", just as a high school sophomore volunteer said: "Last year, seniors helped me, and today I help younger students. This is the inheritance of responsibility

Kind care and warmth for new students

The school leaders are concerned about the registration of new students, and the school's executive principal, Zhang Limei, visited the volunteer service points and classrooms to check the registration status. At the volunteer service point, she encouraged everyone to provide better services for the freshmen; In front of Yuxiang Building, she warmly cared for the "wheelchair youth" and encouraged him to be strong and independent, embracing high school learning and life with love.

Other school leaders also went deep into classrooms, dormitories, and cafeterias to understand the registration situation, and inquired about the collection of bedding, meal card processing, accommodation arrangements, and the operation of dormitory air conditioning. They accompanied the new students during lunch, inspected and inquired about their dining habits, and carefully listened to their suggestions for having their first meal in the dragon.
