Building Dreams Through Labor and Empowering the Future with Practice
In order to thoroughly implement the labor education guidelines in the new era, construct an educational system of "integrating knowledge with practice and nurturing the heart through labor", continuously deepen the connotation of labor education and broaden the practical paths, and cultivate students' labor spirit and innovation ability, since May, Nanchong Longmen Middle School in Sichuan Province has carried out the theme labor practice activity of "Building Dreams Through Labor and Empowering the Future with Practice".
The school organized and carried out a special questionnaire survey on labor education to effectively enhance the pertinence and effectiveness of labor education. Through in-depth research on students' actual needs and strengthening interactive communication, it explored directions, clarified paths, and determined the content for scientifically formulating high-quality labor education activity plans.
Based on the survey results, the school held regular meetings for head teachers and class monitors. It arranged different labor education courses for classes of different grades in a differentiated way, actively mobilized the enthusiasm of teachers and students to participate, and reported, exchanged, and provided feedback and solutions on students' performance and problems in labor practice activities.
To promote the spirit of model workers and cultivate a deep love for labor, each class held a moral education class meeting with the theme of "Promoting the Spirit of Model Workers and Cultivating New People of the Era". Through education and guidance, students were encouraged to establish a scientific view of labor, enabling the spirit of model workers to take root and sprout in the campus, promoting the in-depth integration of labor education into classroom teaching, and guiding students to aspire to become new people of the era with both moral integrity and professional competence.
Under the guidance of relevant departments of the school, during the May Day holiday, students from each class actively participated in diverse and rich labor practice activities, consciously practicing the labor spirit and becoming the main force in promoting the construction of labor education courses.
In the theme practice of "Little Masters of Housework and Little Gourmets", students used pots, pans, ladles, and bowls as pens and the four seasons of meals as ink to record the trivialities of life and understand their parents' hard work. Through the teachings of their elders, they not only improved their cooking skills but also cultivated a sense of gratitude in practice, making labor education a vivid classroom for nourishing the soul and inheriting virtues.
In the theme practice of "Little Farmers in the Fields and Little Artisans in the Workshop", students took the land as a classroom and interpreted responsibility with their hands. While engaging in farming, they touched the warmth of the yellow soil, let sweat soak their clothes, and understood the essence of labor through every hoeing and plowing. When creating handicrafts, they carved the exquisiteness of skills, settled their minds through concentration, and appreciated the preciousness of cultivation from every stitch and thread.
The school carried out the activities of "Little Helpers in the Community and Little Messengers of Public Welfare". Students were encouraged to base themselves in the community, organically integrate family heritage with public welfare practice, deepen their understanding of the value of labor through role-playing labor practices, comprehend the core of the public welfare spirit while serving others, and let the seeds of dedication take root and thrive in the soil of community service, vividly interpreting the sense of responsibility of teenagers in the new era.
In the activities of "Campus Beauticians and Interior Organizers", students swept up fallen leaves, pruned branches, sorted books, and folded quilts. They carved the square - inch space with ingenuity. While cleaning, they touched the warmth of labor; while organizing, they felt the beauty of orderliness.
Students actively participated in crop planting and wheat harvesting. When plowing the land, they cooperated to raise the dust of hope; when sowing, each seed carried expectations into the soil; during the harvest season, the figures waving sickles in the golden wheat waves shone with the light of sweat. From sowing to harvesting, students united in cooperation, experienced the true meaning of "every grain is hard - won" in labor, and let the beauty of labor grow quietly in practice and take root in their hearts.
To deepen the educational effectiveness of the "Labor Week" in May and increase students' participation and sense of identity, the school specially held an exhibition and evaluation activity of "Labor Creative Works". Using handicrafts and labor inventions as media, it constructed an educational closed - loop of "practice - cognition - sublimation" for students, established a cognitive system of "labor is the cornerstone of civilization and creation is the soul of labor", and made the concepts of respecting labor and being brave in innovation take root and be passed on among students.
On May 22, the school held the summary and commendation meeting of the May "Labor Week". Wan Caixia, the chairman of the labor union, and Luo Peng, the director of the Student Affairs Office, presented awards to the classes that won the "Outstanding Organization Award" and the outstanding creators in the "Labor Creative Achievements Exhibition". Those certificates carrying collective honor are vivid depictions of the class cohesion and labor enthusiasm; each labor achievement full of ingenuity is like a blooming flower of innovation, showing the wisdom of students in labor.
Although the educational practice activity of the "May Labor Week" has come to an end, the students of Longmen Middle School will transform the enthusiasm for practice during the "Labor Week" into a continuous driving force for inheriting and promoting the labor spirit, and further strengthen their conscious actions in daily study and life: cultivating knowledge at desks with pens as hoes, knocking on the door of truth in laboratories with exploring hands, and spreading warmth in volunteer services with dedicated hearts.
