Striving for Excellence and Advancing with Determination
To further implement the teaching principles of "three synchronizations and three sharings" in educational research work and continuously improve the school's chemistry teaching and research capabilities, on December 27th, the Gou Xiaowang Master Teacher Studio of Nanchong City and the chemistry group from the Jialing Campus of Nanchong High School gathered at Longmen Middle School in Nanchong for a joint teaching and research exchange event featuring the theme "Iron Salts and Ferrous Salts."
The event began with a lecture by Teacher He Feng from Longmen Middle School, titled "Testing and Transformation of Ferrous and Ferric Ions Based on Core Chemical Literacy." Teacher He quickly engaged students in a real-life scenario through an anemia medical report. Through group discussions and hands-on experiments, students summarized testing methods for ferrous and ferric ions, experiencing the mysteries of chemistry. Teacher He introduced the transformation between ferrous and ferric ions with a small magic trick. The class was experiment-based, encouraging students to think actively and participate in the lesson, fulfilling the new curriculum standard's requirement for students to be the main subjects of learning.
Following this, Teacher Yan Mi from Nanchong High School presented "Exploring Iron Supplements." The class centered on the evolution of iron supplements, weaving together knowledge about testing ferrous and ferric ions. Teacher Yan first introduced the forms of iron in the human body through text and images. Then, analyzing the chemical properties of iron and ferrous salts from a valence-class perspective, predicting reaction products and phenomena, and writing corresponding ionic equations. Finally, the class explored the form of iron in the aqueous solution of the second-generation iron supplement and investigated the composition of the third-generation iron supplement, speculating on the reasons for the evolution of iron supplements. To adapt to the new college entrance examination, Teacher He also carefully designed original questions for students to apply their knowledge.
During the review and discussion session, Zhang Limei, the executive principal of the school, delivered a welcome speech. She extended a warm welcome and sincere thanks to the Gou Xiaowang Master Teacher Studio and the chemistry group from the Jialing Campus of Nanchong High School. She highlighted the new face of Longmen Middle School since the implementation of the leadership decision, the promotion of high-quality development through "three synchronizations and three sharings," and encouraged young teachers to actively grow in joint teaching research to contribute to the continuous improvement of the school's chemistry teaching and research quality.
Subsequently, members of the studio and teachers from both schools engaged in a lively review and discussion.
Yang Liling, the head of the chemistry teaching and research group at Longmen Middle School, believed that both teachers successfully stimulated students' interest in learning and effectively promoted the development of students' cognitive structures. In terms of experimental teaching, both teachers demonstrated patient and meticulous guidance, as well as effective evaluation of experimental plans, fostering students' practical operation skills and practical thinking.
Teacher Yang Jun believed that Teacher He's situational introduction and property testing explanation, and Teacher Yan's exploration of iron supplement components, effectively stimulated students' interest in learning and improved their hands-on abilities and innovative thinking.
Teacher Tang Xuegang, the deputy head of the chemistry teaching and research group at the Jialing Campus of Nanchong High School, praised the excellent performance of the two young teachers in the classroom. They used topic exploration and mobile phone projection to stimulate students' interest and strengthen learning outcomes; in the teaching of ionic equations, they focused on closely aligning with the requirements of the college entrance examination, filling gaps in the textbook.
Teacher Cao Min from the Gou Xiaowang Master Teacher Studio believed that Teacher He stimulated students' enthusiasm, paid attention to the standardization of equation writing, and noted minor issues with students' blackboard writing. Teacher Yan focused on guiding students to master the methods of ion testing, continuously stimulating students' participation in learning, and actively demonstrating classroom vitality.
Teacher Tao Zhiqiang from the Jialing Campus of Nanchong High School shared her experience. Teacher He emphasized the practicality of teaching design and experiments and the use of information technology for efficient student learning; Teacher Yan excelled in depth and breadth, promoting students' in-depth understanding of complex knowledge through carefully designed courses and questions.
Master Teacher Gou Xiaowang provided an in-depth and comprehensive review and summary of the joint teaching event. Teacher Gou pointed out that in terms of content standards, both teachers effectively guided students in inquiry-based learning through real-life scenarios and were adept at finding "fresh points" in conventional situations. He emphasized the importance of the valence-class two-dimensional relationship in the teaching of elemental compounds, which is not only a learning knowledge goal but also an important main line guiding the teaching of this class. Both teachers integrated this concept into their teaching, with different emphases. Teacher Gou also stressed the importance of translating curriculum objectives into specific teaching objectives, which should be reflected in teaching design, knowledge impartation, student activities, and emotional objectives.
After the review activity, Vice Principal Zhang Hongbo delivered a concluding speech. He first expressed his heartfelt thanks to the master teacher studio leader, Vice Principal Gou Xiaowang of Nanchong High School, and the teachers. He hoped that teachers would actively integrate the innovative teaching concepts and strategies learned from the joint teaching research activities into their daily teaching to continuously improve the overall quality of chemistry teaching.
Advancing together on the research journey and growing hand in hand. In this joint teaching and research activity, chemistry colleagues from the two schools and one studio actively exchanged and shared teaching experiences and methods, effectively implementing the "three synchronizations and three sharings" requirements and injecting new vitality into the improvement of chemistry teaching and research levels, actively promoting the high-quality development of school education and teaching.
