Interpreting World Skills Policy, Cultivating Excellent Vocational Teachers

On the afternoon of April 9, Nanchong Film Industry Vocational College held a special lecture on "Interpreting the Policies of the World Vocational College Skills Competition" in the second-floor conference room. The lecture was delivered by Qu Shanxiao, Deputy Director of the National Radio and Television and Network Audio-Visual Vocational Education Teaching Guidance Committee and Dean of the Higher Vocational College of Communication University of China.

Qu Shanxiao has achieved remarkable results in the field of vocational education and is a recipient of the first prize for national teaching achievements. He also participated in the judging of the 2024 World Vocational College Skills Competition finals, possessing rich industry experience and professional insights.

The World Vocational College Skills Competition is an important event in the global field of vocational education, aiming to provide a platform for teachers and students of vocational colleges worldwide to showcase their skills, exchange experiences, and enhance friendship, promoting communication and cooperation in global vocational education. In his lecture, Dean Qu explained various aspects of the World Vocational College Skills Competition, including its basic situation, main characteristics, and achievements. He detailed the "six new" features of the competition, namely new requirements, changes, tasks, orientations, trends, and characteristics. He pointed out that the competition has introduced new reforms in track settings and competition formats, providing a clear direction for the development of vocational education. The competition emphasizes the importance of deep integration of industry and education, comprehensive ability cultivation, and international development. It encourages colleges and universities to closely integrate industry needs in their teaching and education processes, focusing on the cultivation of students' practical abilities and innovative spirit, and striving to improve the relevance and adaptability of talent cultivation. Qu Shanxiao earnestly told the young teachers present that they must understand the comprehensive ability requirements of vocational education in the World Skills Competition. Teachers must strengthen their own abilities, especially in human-computer interaction and innovation. Under the current circumstances, teachers "either reach the summit or be submerged." They need to have a sense of crisis and a spirit of striving.

At the lecture, the teachers were fully engaged, immersed in Dean Qu's wonderful explanation, and actively asked questions, sharing their insights and confusions. Dean Qu patiently and meticulously answered each question raised by the teachers and provided relevant suggestions from aspects such as teaching method innovation. The atmosphere at the scene was very lively.
