Nanchong Film Industry Vocational College Teacher's Work "The Tower" Makes an Appearance at the Music and Technology Innovation Festival
Recently, the Cadillac Shanghai Concert Hall's "Digital Muse - 2025 Music and Technology Innovation Festival" and the "Time and Space Mortise and Tenon - From the Northern Wei Dynasty to the Future Digital Imaging and Sound Interaction Exhibition" officially opened. Tang Maowen, a teacher from the School of Film and Television at Nanchong Film Industry Vocational College, was invited to participate in the exhibition, and his new media music work "The Tower" is one of the five creative works presented in this "Time and Space Mortise and Tenon" interactive exhibition.
It is understood that this "Time and Space Mortise and Tenon" digital imaging and sound interaction exhibition is an important part of the music and technology innovation festival. All the exhibited works were selected through a global call for submissions. The participating artists include Tang Maowen, Lin Zhitao, Xing Na, Shen Jiajun, Chu Yilin, Da Yan, Ji He, Sun Yiyang, Chen Ziyi, and Lola. The theme of the exhibition "From the Northern Wei Dynasty to the Future" begins with Tang Maowen's work "The Tower."
The work "The Tower" showcases the grandeur and artistic charm of the Yongning Temple Tower during the Northern Wei Dynasty. The piece mainly combines human voices with traditional Chinese percussion instruments such as Buddhist bowls and bianzhong. The visual design centers on the shape and structure of the tower, using a combination of sound and image to recreate the magnificent scene of the Tower, expressing respect for the excellent traditional Chinese culture.
The college's continuous efforts in the integration of technology and art were fully demonstrated in this exhibition. Teacher Tang Maowen's outstanding work not only showcases his in-depth exploration in the field of interactive sound art and cross-media creation but also proves the significant achievements the college has made in the construction of cutting-edge disciplines such as new media art and music technology.
