Sichuan Yingshan: Jinhua Hope Primary School Holds Club Achievement Exhibition
On the afternoon of December 23rd, Jinhua Hope Primary School in Yingshan County, Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, was bustling with activity as the school held a club achievement exhibition and "Parent Open Day" event themed "Diverse Clubs Show Elegance, Childlike Dreams Build a Joyful Future." Nearly 200 people, including representatives from the Yingshan County Direct Education Supervision Group, direct district schools, and parents, participated in the event.
The event was divided into three stages: video material display, sports, art, and science and innovation club training demonstrations on the playground, and music and dance club achievement performances.
At the exhibition site, various sports clubs showcased their "unique skills." Members of the freestyle basketball club demonstrated the charm of basketball with their agile dribbling and exquisite skills. Badminton club members moved back and forth like light swifts, swiftly darting across the court. Their proficient techniques and smooth movements showcased their strength and courage. There were also impressive training demonstrations from martial arts, chess, table tennis, and jump rope clubs, which won praise from attendees and prompted them to capture the moments with their phones.
The display of art, calligraphy, and science and innovation clubs also attracted the attention of many teachers and students. At the exhibition, a variety of innovative works and scientific achievements were on display, showcasing the students' intelligence and creativity. Lifelike works demonstrated the students' rich imagination and superb artistic skills. From colorful children's paintings to delicate line drawings to exquisite paper-cutting works, each piece was imbued with the emotions and creativity of the creators and their instructors.
The choir's clear and loud singing and the dance group's graceful movements were also featured. In addition to the club achievements, a performance segment was set up. The literary and artistic performance kicked off with a powerful drum set, followed by recitations such as "Look, That's the Star I'm Chasing," and dances like "Thousand Characters Classic," "Twinkling Red Star," and "I Have a Dream," among 16 performances. The children used their diverse and vivid performances to showcase the image of striving, sunny, and confident children in the new era, winning rounds of applause from parents in the audience.
"The exhibition is not only a feast for the eyes and ears but also the best reward for the efforts of the club members. We parents are very impressed. It brings back memories for 'post-70s' parents and allows 'post-10s' students to grow happily. We are very reassured to entrust our children to the school," said Li Xiaoqin, a parent of a third-grade student from Class One, expressing her thoughts on the event.
It is understood that in recent years, the school has adhered to the educational philosophy of "happy education," with the development theme of "Encountering Hope, Delighting in the Future," and is led by the "joy culture" (pleasing oneself and others, nurturing the heart and cultivating virtue; delighting in the heart and action, inspiring wisdom and seeking truth). The school insists on educating through its curriculum, committed to achieving happy teachers, cultivating happy students, radiating happy families, and establishing a happy campus, focusing on promoting the connotative development of the school.
"This event is not only a review of the club achievements but also a wonderful presentation of the beauty of art," said Principal Wei Yongxing of Hope Primary School. To support the implementation of the "double reduction" policy, enrich campus cultural life, develop students' interests and talents, and promote the comprehensive development of students, the school has carefully planned and established 30 clubs based on student characteristics, teacher strengths, and school features, covering six areas: instrumental music, calligraphy and painting, literature and art, sports, science and technology, and language. Additionally, interest clubs such as chess, badminton, paper-cutting, painting, hosting, and choir have been established. Every June 1st, the school hosts an Art Festival and a Music Festival, allowing students to fully display their talents and meet their diverse interest needs.
