To enhance the emergency rescue capabilities for maternal and infant safety incidents, on the afternoon of December 10th, the Health Bureau of Shunqing District, Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, successfully conducted a district-wide maternal and infant safety emergency drill at the district's Critical Pregnant Women and Newborn Treatment Center. Twelve expert members from the Shunqing District Maternal and Infant Safety Management Office participated in the drill, and Zeng Guangsong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group and Deputy Director of the Shunqing District Health Bureau, was present at the scene to command and coordinate.

The drill simulated a scenario where a high-risk pregnant woman suddenly encountered an emergency situation outside the hospital. The focus of the drill was on simulating emergency response to key aspects such as pre-hospital emergency care, early recognition of high-risk symptoms, green channel mechanisms, inpatient identity recognition, patient-doctor communication, postpartum hemorrhage, newborn resuscitation, testing for HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B and AIDS and syphilis,  and emergency cesarean section preparation. The drill demonstrated the professional rescue capabilities of obstetric and neonatal medical staff and also identified some weaknesses in the treatment process.

After the drill, the expert group conducted an immediate assessment of the entire process and provided suggestions for improvement regarding the issues identified.

The drill also revealed the overall improvement in the district's maternal and infant safety treatment level, treatment system, and equipment in recent years. Through strict control at every level, the bottom line of maternal and infant safety under new circumstances is being strengthened, promoting the high-quality development of maternal and child health services.
