Sichuan Yingshan: Pengda Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Cooperative's Case Listed on National Typical Case List

On February 24th, it was reported from the Yingshan County Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau in Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, that the Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs recently issued a notice titled "On Leveraging Typical New Agricultural Business Entities to Improve the Agricultural Business System and Support Industrial Development." The notice announced the sixth batch of national typical cases of new agricultural business entities, among which Yingshan County's Pengda Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Cooperative's case "Building an Agricultural Business System and Promoting the Integrated Development of Tea and Tourism" was listed.

Founded in April 2011 and located in Shishi Village, Mingde Township, Pengda Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Cooperative engages in tea cultivation, handmade tea production, and sales. It currently has 116 members and a tea - planting area of over 1,300 acres. By continuously improving the "company + cooperative + village collective economic organization + farmers" development model, it has promoted green tea production, brand - led development, and the inheritance of tea - making skills, and has embarked on a rural revitalization path integrating tea and tourism. The cooperative has established its charter and a sound system of regulations centered on the members' congress, board of directors, and board of supervisors. It has also implemented the "six - unification" requirements of "unified product standards, unified production technology, unified soil monitoring, unified management measures, unified trademark brands, and unified sales channels" to improve the quality and efficiency of the tea industry. The cooperative has collaborated with universities, hired expert service teams, and provided technical guidance to its members and surrounding tea - growing households to strengthen technical support. While adhering to traditional planting methods, it has actively promoted measures such as "grass - based weed control and manual weeding," implemented comprehensive green prevention and control, and promoted the circular use of resources in agricultural production. In 2022, Mingde Tea successfully obtained organic food certification.

The cooperative has organized young people in the village who are interested in learning tea - making to jointly research and inherit the traditional Mingde tea - making skills. It has also conducted professional training and demonstration activities to promote the inheritance of traditional Mingde tea - making techniques. It has registered three brands - "Mingde Tribute Tea," "Chen Dazhai Ganlu," and "Deng's Mingde Tea" - and applied to join the "Hao Chong Shi" regional public brand in Nanchong City. Taking the tea industry as the foundation, it has comprehensively promoted the integrated development of tea, culture, tourism, and health. It has invested in the construction of the Mingde Tea Garden Reception Center, cultivated a large - scale azalea garden, and developed tourism projects such as stargazing camping and sunrise viewing. It has basically built an ecological leisure and holiday resort integrating tea - picking, tea - making, and tea - tasting. It has also constructed a tea - science - education practice base, agricultural planting area, tea - making experience area, and life - skills training center. It has cooperated with some primary and secondary schools in the county to conduct study - travel courses around the theme of "Tea Fragrance and Labor Education," and it can accommodate hundreds of students for labor education activities simultaneously.
