First Lesson of the School Term: Remembering Traffic Rules
"Children under 12 years old are not allowed to ride bicycles on the road. When riding a bicycle, a safety helmet must be worn. When traveling by car, seat belts must be fastened." Recently, the Yingshan County Public Security Traffic Police Detachment in Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, visited Xinzhai Middle School in Yingshan County to give students a lively lesson on traffic safety.
During the spring semester, the Yingshan County Public Security Traffic Police Detachment, in collaboration with the county's education department, township police stations, and traffic management offices, conducted a series of activities at 10 urban and rural schools, including Furong Primary School, Chengshou Primary School, and Xinzhai Middle School, under the theme of "Join Hands to Build Safe Roads and Escort Every Step of Growth."
At each school, the publicity team played videos of cautionary examples. The shocking scenes of traffic accidents deeply impressed upon teachers, parents, and students the severe consequences of not following traffic rules and the dangers of violations such as running red lights, not wearing helmets, and crossing the road indiscriminately.
The publicity team also used PPT presentations with vivid images and text to explain the meanings of various traffic signs and markings, as well as precautions for walking, cycling, and riding in vehicles. For parents who ride bicycles to drop off and pick up their children, the team provided guidance on proper parking to avoid traffic congestion caused by disorderly parking.
Students and parents expressed their commitment to strictly follow traffic rules, keep safety regulations in mind, ensure safe travel, and resolutely prevent the occurrence of traffic accidents.
The head of the Yingshan County Public Security Traffic Police Detachment said that they will continue to carry out traffic safety activities in schools to help more students acquire traffic safety knowledge and develop good habits of civilized travel. They will also strengthen inter - departmental cooperation and maintain their posts at school protection stations, assigning specific personnel, times, and responsibilities to jointly safeguard the safe growth of children.
