Inheriting the Spirit of Resistance Against Japan and Consolidating Patriotic Forces

On November 27th, Longmen Middle School in Nanchong, Sichuan Province organized party members and cadres to visit the Sichuan Museum to visit the "Great Victory of Sichuan Chongqing Contribution - Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti Fascist War" special exhibition. Through the integration of historical artifacts and school history memories, we collectively reviewed the turbulent years when the people of Bashu went to the national crisis together.

The special exhibition is divided into five chapters, including "Leading the Direction" and "Going to the National Crisis Together", and gathers more than 300 collections from 49 cultural and museum institutions across the country. At the exhibition area of "Knowledge Youth Expedition to Burma", party members and cadres felt a great sense of familiarity - the "Brief Introduction Table of Knowledge Youth Trained by the National Government for Joining the Army" on the exhibition wall and the photo of the Boy Scouts of Nanchong Chengda Middle School who went to Sichuan to fight against Japan in 1943 were precious historical witnesses of the school's predecessor (the private Nanchong Chengda Middle School during the Anti Japanese War) participating in the war. According to records, in the later period of the Anti Japanese War, young intellectuals from Sichuan and Chongqing actively joined the army, and the Sichuan Chongqing Education Corps alone trained more than ten thousand young people. The patriotic students of the school who devoted themselves to the military and embarked on expeditions to Yunnan and Myanmar are a vivid portrayal of the spirit of "Sichuan soul".

During the visit, party members and cadres stopped in front of cultural relics such as the porcelain altar printed with "Sichuan People's Unity in Anti Japanese War" and the "Death Flag" of Sichuan Army, and combined with the record of "Chengda students out of Sichuan to fight against Japan" in the school history, they deeply understood the role of the CPC as the mainstay in the national war of resistance, and the family and country feelings of the children of Bashu to "bravely go to the national crisis and resist foreign aggression together".

Tang Bing, Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee, said, "Seeing the historical photos of the school appearing in the exhibition, I truly feel the passion and responsibility of our predecessors, and also strengthen the mission and responsibility on our shoulders." He pointed out that this exhibition is an "immersive red school history class", and all Longzhong people, especially party members and cadres, should integrate the spirit of the Anti Japanese War into the practice of cultivating morality and talents, inherit the educational philosophy of "cultivating virtue and talent", and make positive contributions to promoting the high-quality development of the school.
