Southwest Transportation Technical School: Martial Arts Short Weapons Team Shines at Provincial Competition, Wins Multiple Honors

Recently, the 2025 Sichuan Student Wushu (Taolu and Short Weapons) Open Championship concluded successfully. The martial arts short weapons team from Nanchong Traffic Technical School emerged as a standout performer at the event, winning 10 gold medals, 2 silver medals, 5 bronze medals, and securing the Group Second Prize, High School Group Championship, and Sports Ethics Award. This achievement highlights the school’s remarkable success in integrating innovative martial arts education with competitive sports development.

The competition attracted nearly 100 schools and over 1,000 participants from across Sichuan Province. Nanchong Traffic Technical School’s team demonstrated exceptional technical skills, strategic teamwork, and tenacious sportsmanship in both individual and team events. The High School Group Championship was particularly notable, with team members showcasing flawless offensive and defensive techniques and seamless collaboration to claim the top spot decisively. The Sports Ethics Award underscored the school’s long-standing commitment to the principle of "cultivating morality through martial arts and enhancing skills through ethics."

In individual accolades, students Yang Jiaxin, Zhang Lin, and Zuo Qianran earned the title of "Outstanding Athlete" for their agility, composure, and exemplary performance on the mat. Coach Pei Yaolong was honored as "Outstanding Coach" for his scientific training methods and strategic guidance. His innovative "step-by-step intensive training system" proved instrumental to the team’s victory.

The school plans to leverage this success to further promote martial arts culture in classrooms and extracurricular clubs, ensuring the timeless spirit of Chinese martial arts continues to thrive in the modern era.
