Build a Solid Safety Defense Line and Create a Life Protection Barrier

 In response to the call of the National Disaster Prevention and Reduction Day on May 12, 2025, and to further strengthen the safety awareness of teachers and students and improve their abilities of earthquake avoidance, disaster prevention, self-rescue, and mutual rescue, on May 12, Sichuan Nanchong Longmen Middle School organized teachers and students of the first and second grades of senior high school and junior high school to carry out the "May 12" earthquake avoidance and disaster reduction emergency evacuation drill.

 As soon as the alarm sounded abruptly, the drill officially kicked off. The emergency response mechanism was quickly activated. Teachers in charge of each floor and class arrived at their designated positions immediately, guiding students to evacuate in an orderly manner along the pre-determined evacuation routes calmly. The students bent down, covered their noses, and were fully focused, gathering on the playground in the fastest and safest way. The whole evacuation process was intense, orderly, and well-organized. Teachers and students evacuated safely to the designated area on the playground within the specified time.

 Xiong Yongnian, director of the Security Office, summarized this drill. He fully affirmed the excellent performance of teachers and students during the drill. At the same time, he also pointed out some details in the drill, such as the insufficient evacuation speed of some students, and put forward targeted improvement suggestions.

 This earthquake avoidance and disaster reduction emergency evacuation drill practiced the safety concept of "Everyone Talks about Safety and Everyone Can Respond to Emergencies", tested the feasibility and effectiveness of the emergency plan. During the drill, teachers and students accumulated valuable experience in emergency avoidance, and their awareness of inspecting potential disaster hazards around them was further enhanced.
