Nanchong Film Industry Vocational College Unveils Spectacular 'Ne Zha'-Themed Mural
Recently, an artistic wave has swept through the campus of Nanchong Film Industry Vocational College, with a giant mural themed around the movie "Ne Zha" making a stunning appearance on the school’s commercial street. The mural was jointly created by teachers Wang Hui, Liu Yunze, and Wang Wenzhi from the college’s School of Art, along with their students. It combines traditional mythological imagery with modern artistic styles, adding a vibrant cultural hue to the campus and attracting many teachers, students, and visitors to stop and take photos.
The Ne Zha character in the mural is inspired by the film "Ne Zha," written and directed by Jiaozi. Through bold use of color and dynamic composition, the mural skillfully blends traditional and modern aesthetics, bringing the playful and adorable Ne Zha to life. The faculty-student team integrated elements of painting and art design, showcasing the school’s diverse practical capabilities in art-related disciplines.
The mural project involved both teachers and students from the School of Art and took nearly a month to complete, from conceptual design to the final painting. The original intention of the project was to spark students’ interest in traditional culture through art while also honing their practical skills. One participating student said, “The knowledge we learned in class about painting was fully applied in this practice.” This project is also a vivid example of how the school has transformed teaching achievements into campus cultural construction.
In recent years, the college has continuously deepened the innovation of art education and is committed to cultivating compound talents in film industrialization and artistic creation. The school and its leaders from the School of Art have made multiple visits to industries and enterprises for exchanges and cooperation, promoting collaboration and joint talent cultivation between the school and enterprises, which has laid the foundation for the creation of the mural.
After its unveiling, the mural quickly became a "must-visit spot" on campus. Many students said that these works not only beautify the campus environment but also allow them to experience the youthful expression of traditional culture. Teacher Wang Hui, who participated in the creation, said, “The spirit of Ne Zha shown in the movie coincides with the fighting spirit of contemporary youth. We hope to convey this positive energy through art.” The mural has also attracted visits from school leaders and guests, further enhancing the school’s cultural influence.
In the future, the School of Art at Nanchong Film Industry Vocational College will continue to promote regular art practice, explore more ways to integrate traditional culture with modern technology, and provide a broader creative platform for teachers and students, contributing to the innovative development of China’s film and art education.
