Inheriting the Spirit of Lei Feng and Practicing the Responsibility of the Times

In order to profoundly grasp the contemporary connotations of the Lei Feng spirit and guide all young students in the school to exercise themselves, shape their character, and serve society through volunteer dedication, the Youth League Committee of Nanchong Film Industry Vocational College actively organized a variety of diverse and content-rich volunteer service activities during the March Learn from Lei Feng Volunteer Service Month. On the evening of April 10, the Youth League Committee held a summary and commendation meeting for the "Inheriting the Spirit of Lei Feng and Practicing the Responsibility of the Times" Volunteer Service Activity Month. Li Songbai, the full-time deputy secretary of the Youth League Committee, attended the event and spoke. The event was also attended by the instructors of the Youth League Committee, the secretaries of the Youth League general branches of each college, all members of the fourth session of the Youth League and student organizations, and representatives of the commended volunteers.

Student vice-secretaries from each secondary college took turns to take the stage, using PPTs and on-site narration to report on the activities carried out during Lei Feng Month. At Baneng Primary School, volunteers donated books, taught dance, hosting, and basketball skills, igniting the children's desire for knowledge. In the "Protecting the Mother River, Striving to be River Guardians" campaign, students in volunteer uniforms cleaned up trash in streets, alleys, and green spaces, protecting their homeland. In assisting the elderly and people with disabilities, volunteers accompanied elderly people living alone and supported people with disabilities, offering warm care. In terms of cultural inheritance, some students used their professional knowledge to create static web pages to tell the story of Lei Feng, while others created posters and literary works to interpret the Lei Feng spirit in the new era.

Zhang Su Jing, the head of the Volunteer Practice Department, read out the Nanchong Film Industry Vocational College Youth League Committee Document No. 19 [2025] "Decision on Commending Outstanding Volunteers and Advanced Units in the 2025 'Inheriting the Spirit of Lei Feng and Practicing the Responsibility of the Times' Volunteer Service Series of Activities" and commended 16 outstanding volunteers and 2 advanced units.

Zhang Zihao, a representative of outstanding volunteers, shared his growth journey in volunteer service with sincere emotion. He said, "When I saw the children's radiant smiles because of our help, I truly understood the profound meaning of 'serving the people'." With simple language, he depicted those heartwarming moments, allowing everyone to truly feel the power brought by volunteer actions. He called on all young people of Nanchong Film Industry Vocational College to forge ahead on the journey of volunteer service.

In his summary speech, Li Songbai, the full-time deputy secretary of the Youth League Committee, emphasized that the committee will promote the regular, refined, and branded development of volunteer services through measures such as jointly building practice bases with local communities and improving project cultivation mechanisms. Secretary Li encouraged all young people to take the Lei Feng spirit as a guide, to temper their character and enhance their abilities in serving society, and to let the volunteer flower bloom in more places.
