Notice for the Script Submission of the 16th Nanchong "Reading History, Glorious Years" Historical Script Writing Competition

Under the strong support of the Nanchong Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism, the "Reading History, Glorious Years" Historical Script Writing and Outstanding Historical Drama Performance Competition in Nanchong, co-organized by the Committee of the Communist Youth League of Southwest University for Nationalities and the School of History and Culture of Southwest University for Nationalities, is launched once again. The "Reading History, Glorious Years" Historical Script Collection and Outstanding Historical Drama Performance Competition has spanned 18 years, receiving over 7,000 scripts from all over the country and involving more than 20,000 participants. It was incorporated into the overall planning of campus cultural construction of Southwest University for Nationalities in 2012 and received funding from the Ministry of Education in 2014. The 16th "Reading History, Glorious Years" Historical Script Writing Competition, themed "Writing Classic Stories, Performing Chinese Spirit, and Tasting Millennia of Civilization," is open to history enthusiasts nationwide to widely collect excellent historical scripts. The specific details are as follows:

I. Participants

This competition is open to script writing enthusiasts nationwide.

II. Participation Requirements

1. Script Requirements:

• The submitted script must be an original work by the author or an adaptation (source must be acknowledged).

• The content of the script should focus on character development and dramatic conflict while being historically accurate.

• The content should be positive and promote traditional Chinese virtues, disseminate excellent traditional Chinese culture, and showcase the national spirit. Participants may create scripts based on traditional historical stories, heroic figures, local history, and other aspects.

• The author must include their school name, full name, and valid contact information at the end of the script for communication purposes.

2. Submission Period: January 17, 2025, to February 24, 2025.

3. Submission Method: The main text of the submitted script should be in size-four SimSun font. (The email subject should be in the unified format of [Reading History, Glorious Years Historical Script] + Participant's Name + Participant's School + Title of the Work). Please send the script as an attachment to the email address cwnulswhxy@163.com. All submissions will not be returned, so please keep a copy for yourself.

III. Award Settings

The competition will invite relevant experts to serve as judges to evaluate all submitted works and award first prize, second prize, third prize, and several excellence awards.

Note: This competition includes a script writing contest, a historical prop-making contest, and a performance of outstanding historical dramas.
