Sichuan Nanchong: Red Cross Volunteer Association Holds 2024 Membership Representative Conference

On the afternoon of December 21st, the Nanchong City Red Cross Volunteer Association grandly held its 2024 Membership Representative Conference at the city's central blood station, chaired by the association's president, Li Xiaofan. Attendees included Du Bing, a fourth-level researcher of the Nanchong City Red Cross, Wang Li, head of the Disaster Relief and First Aid Department, Cheng Xiaoli, head of the Nanchong City Red Cross Central Blood Station, Wu Wanping, party branch secretary of the association, Yao Qingshun, chairman of the association's supervisory board, Qian Yu, executive president, and other leaders. Additionally, Qiang Si Zheng, party branch secretary of the New Federation, Chen Dan, president of the Silk Capital Emergency Rescue Association, Zhang Li from the Nanchong Anhan Emergency Rescue Association, Jin Gaofeng, president of the Nanchong City Sanxian Association, Du Maozhong, president of the Volunteer Police Association, Yang Xianbao, president of the South County Public Welfare Volunteers Association, and 120 members and representatives of Chinese and foreign volunteers attended the conference.

At the conference, President Li Xiaofan delivered a 2024 work report and shared knowledge about the Red Cross movement with the theme "Remembering the Original Mission, Boldly Undertaking the Responsibilities of the Era, and Striving to Write a New Chapter of High-Quality Development of the Nanchong Red Cross Cause." He stated that in 2024, the association vigorously promoted the Red Cross spirit of "humanity, fraternity, and dedication," further strengthened the construction of various volunteer service teams, and carried out public welfare service activities such as "three donations," humanitarian aid, public welfare education, respect for the elderly, legal aid, emergency rescue, care for children, and veterans. Executive President Qian Yu presented the association's financial work report and proposed constructive work suggestions. He pointed out that to further enhance the association's cohesion and combat effectiveness, it is necessary to strengthen member services and improve the enthusiasm and initiative of members in paying membership fees. At the same time, it is important to actively expand the membership, attract more local well-known enterprises and philanthropists to join, and achieve a two-way empowerment of business and humanitarian public welfare. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen coordination with government functional departments, strive for more government service purchase projects, and enhance the research and application of volunteer service projects to improve service quality and effectiveness. Yang Xirong, commander of the Good Soldier Volunteer Service Team, Chen Siyu, captain of the Legal Volunteer Service Team, Yang Jiayu, captain of the Angel Volunteer Service Team, and Zhang Ruiyao, captain of the Bluestone Public Welfare Education Volunteer Service Team, presented their annual work reports.

At the conference, association president Li Xiaofan and executive president Qian Yu issued appointment letters to six secretariat leaders, including Chen Xiang. The conference commended five caring units such as the Good Soldier Family Service Co., Ltd., three outstanding directors including Jia Changhai, eight outstanding party member volunteers including Zhang Yong, and 50 outstanding volunteers including Qian Hongmei. Outstanding volunteer Shao Zhuzhu delivered an acceptance speech, and foreign volunteers Ai Fan and Sha He Ming shared their insights on volunteer service.

At the conference, researcher Du Bing, on behalf of the city's Red Cross, extended warm congratulations to the successful convening of the conference and the commended advanced units and individuals, and expressed sincere greetings and high respect to the majority of volunteer friends who have long been concerned with and supported the Red Cross cause and made selfless contributions. He fully affirmed the work of the Nanchong City Red Cross Volunteer Association. He emphasized the need to raise political positioning, hold high the "Red Cross flag," ensure that Red Cross work focuses on main responsibilities and businesses, take on the "Red Cross responsibility," and carry out Red Cross volunteer service work with high standards and quality; to strengthen self-construction, consolidate the "Red Cross foundation," and truly build the association into a Red Cross volunteer home with broad coverage, strong cohesion, and vitality.

The successful conclusion of this Membership Representative Conference not only marks the fruitful results achieved by the Nanchong City Red Cross Volunteer Association in the past year but also points out the direction for the association's future development. It is believed that with the joint efforts of all members, the Nanchong City Red Cross Volunteer Association will continue to reach new heights and contribute more to the development of the Red Cross cause.
