Nanchong, Sichuan: Hand in hand, red torch passed down from generation to generation

On September 11th, in order to solemnly commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti Fascist War, and to guide students and the general public to inherit the red genes and promote the spirit of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Martyrs Memorial Facility Protection Center of Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, in conjunction with the Dabeijie Primary School of Nanchong City, launched a themed preaching activity on "Inheriting the Heroic Spirit and Advancing the New Journey".

Li Zucheng, a model of the entire army's love for soldiers in the Vietnam Self Defense Counterattack War, a first-class disabled soldier, Li Juan, the great granddaughter of martyr Li Mingke, and Jiang Tiangui, the father of martyr Jiang Feifei, walked into the campus and passionately recounted the years of war, expressed infinite grief, and shared touching insights. Li Zucheng recreated the heroic journey of a tough battle in the Laoshan Campaign through his personal experience; Li Juan introduced the life of her great grandfather, martyr Li Mingke, through precious historical images, and shared the true story of her family's inheritance of revolutionary spirit in ordinary positions; Jiang Feifei's heroic deeds are narrated by the narrator Du Yuping, which is deeply moving.

At the event, students transformed into "red teenagers" and recited the martyr's letter "Mom! I miss you so much" and the poem "Mom, I'm leaving" with vivid emotions, reminiscing deeply about revolutionary martyrs such as Lin Xiujie. A red knowledge Q&A session was also set up on site, and students actively participated, creating a lively atmosphere.

The spiritual monument forged by the martyrs with their youth and passion will forever inspire us to move forward, "said fifth grade students of Dabeijie Primary School in Nanchong City.

Nanchong is a red hot soil and an important part of the Sichuan Shaanxi Soviet Area. On this land of heroes, more than 20000 children have sacrificed their precious lives for the revolution and construction, and have been named martyrs.

Tang Hui, Deputy Director of the Veterans Affairs Bureau of Nanchong City, stated that the launch of the "Red September Walking Ideological and Political Course" is aimed at enabling more people, especially young people, to understand the red history of Nanchong, feel the heroic spirit and patriotism of revolutionary martyrs, tell heroic stories well, and pass on the red genes from generation to generation.
