To further enhance the public's, especially the youth's, understanding and awareness of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) and to promote its inheritance and development, on the afternoon of January 7th, the launch ceremony of the "Hundred Cities, Hundred Arts" Chengdu-Chongqing inaugural "Twin Cities" Youth Film Festival's ICH micro-film creation was held at Zhang Fei Temple Square in Langzhong Ancient City. Teachers and students from Nanchong Film Industry Vocational College were invited to participate in the event.
During the event, He Weidong, the vice president of the school and a member of the expert panel for this event, introduced the school's situation and development in detail to the attending leaders and the audience. He emphasized the achievements the school has made in film production and shooting, and provided an in-depth interpretation of the school's innovative practices and future plans centered around regional ICH culture. He stressed that the school will fully utilize its professional advantages, actively build platforms, and encourage young students to engage in the creation of ICH micro-films. Through the power of imagery, the school aims to help more people understand and pay attention to ICH culture. Additionally, the school will strengthen cooperation with local cultural departments to jointly promote the protection and inheritance of ICH projects, contributing to the development of regional culture.
As an important part of the event, micro-films (videos) related to ICH produced by the school's teachers and students, such as "Warm Light," "Shunqing Flavor: Li Family Pot Helmet," "Small Hammer Strikes for a Thousand Years," "Life in the Shadows," and "Wanxue Bamboo Weaving: Playing the Symphony of Life," were screened on site. He Weidong also engaged in in-depth discussions with ICH inheritors from Sichuan and Chongqing on topics such as ICH protection and inheritance, and the design and production of cultural and creative products.
Finally, He Weidong, together with Lu Xingqiong, the inheritor of Langzhong silk carpet weaving skills, and Tian Dangdang, the secretary-general of the Sichuan Cultural and Creative Alliance's short drama, jointly announced the official launch of the "Hundred Cities, Hundred Arts" Chengdu-Chongqing inaugural "Twin Cities" Youth Film Festival's ICH micro-film creation activity.
