Sichuan Nanchong: Launches the 56th "World Earth Day" Series of Activities

On April 20th, Nanchong City launched the 56th "World Earth Day" series of activities themed "Upholding the Banner of Energy Green Development and Jointly Building a New Ecological Look for the Earth." The event aims to promote the concept of green development through a "university-local collaboration and China-foreign linkage" dual-engine approach, advocating for everyone to become "innovators" of green energy, "practitioners" of harmonious coexistence, and "communicators" of civilization.

This year's activities were co-hosted by the Nanchong People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, China West Normal University, and the Nanchong Municipal Natural Resources and Planning Bureau. They were organized by relevant institutions and colleges of China West Normal University and the Nanchong Science and Technology Museum. The event kicked off at China West Normal University, where Chinese and foreign young people gathered to use their wisdom and enthusiasm to jointly create a series of vivid green paintings.

Yang Kai, the Secretary and President of the Nanchong People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, said in the event that the association has joined hands with China West Normal University to hold a series of activities for seven consecutive years, relying on the universities' scientific research advantages. These activities have promoted the implementation of research topics such as the ecological restoration of the Jialing River wetlands and the utilization of clean energy in Northeast Sichuan. They have written a green chapter with the power of "university-local collaboration." This event, with the aspiration of "upholding the banner" and the bridge of "harmony," guides Chinese and foreign youth and the general public to establish the value concept of "green development and harmonious coexistence." It responds to the green call with the power of "coexistence" and gathers green strength with the power of "youth."

At the children's painting award ceremony, creative and imaginative works showcased the children's longing for a green home and their attention to environmental protection. Students from China West Normal University demonstrated the active participation and innovative practices of the younger generation in the construction of ecological civilization through exciting cultural programs such as science shows, environmental fashion shows, and song and dance poetry painting.

During the event, the organizers also jointly held a variety of activities, including themed publicity exhibitions, environmental photography exhibitions, and environmental fashion shows. These activities further enhanced the environmental awareness of Chinese and foreign youth and guided everyone to actively cherish the environment and build a green and harmonious home.

The event not only enhanced the friendship among Chinese and foreign youth through communication and interaction but also planted the seeds of green in their hearts.
