Sichuan Nanchong: Offline Training Held for "Rural Traditional Chinese Medicine" Public Welfare Project
On April 19th, an offline training session for the "Rural Traditional Chinese Medicine" public welfare project was held in Nanchong. Officials from the Nanchong People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (hereinafter referred to as the "Municipal Friendship Association") and the Municipal Health Commission attended the event, and nearly 100 participating doctors from Nanchong joined the offline training.
Peng Xixi, Vice President of the Municipal Association Foreign Friendship, said in her speech that as the promoter of the "Rural Traditional Chinese Medicine" public welfare training project in Nanchong, the association has actively sought support, conducted field surveys, and integrated resources from various parties. It established three research groups to delve into rural areas and understand the implementation of the project, ensuring its smooth progress. This offline training session marks a further expansion and deepening of the "Rural Traditional Chinese Medicine" public welfare training project. Moving forward, the Municipal Friendship Association will fully leverage its resources and advantages in people's diplomacy to serve the entire process of the "Rural Traditional Chinese Medicine" public welfare training project. It will also actively seek high-quality medical assistance resources from both domestic and international sources to support the high-quality development of rural revitalization and the health sector in Nanchong.
The offline training lasted for two days, with Professor Xiao Xiangru from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and Dean Li Yuanqing from Songming Academy providing on-site lectures, offering a more intuitive and in-depth learning experience for participants. After the classes, there were also on-site Q&A sessions to address any doubts and issues encountered in learning and practice.
It is understood that the "Rural Traditional Chinese Medicine" public welfare training project is funded and organized by Give2Asia and the China Foundation for Friendship and Peaceful Development, with strong support from the China National Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the Sichuan Provincial Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. It is a grassroots medical support project that the Nanchong Municipal Friendship Association has actively sought and jointly implemented with the Nanchong Municipal Health Commission. On May 15, 2024, the project was launched in Nanchong through an online video conference. To date, after 10 months of online training, more than 400 rural traditional Chinese medicine practitioners have actively participated, applied their learning, and guided practice, with the project progressing in an orderly manner and achieving significant results.
